AJR is returning to Houston to perform for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on March 6. Their last show in Houston was nearly three years ago at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion during their OK Orchestra tour.
Brothers Adam, Jack and Ryan Met were scheduled to perform their Maybe Man Tour at the Toyota Center on July 9, 2024, the day after Hurricane Beryl hit Houston. From their hotel room downtown, the band posted that they would have to cancel the concert due to safety concerns from damage caused by the hurricane.
Despite the cancelation, Ticketmaster continued to sell tickets until merely hours before the event would have begun. Fans scrambled to find replacement tickets for other shows of the tour nearby. Tickets sold out fast; prices skyrocketed due to the sudden increase in demand.
The only other tour show they had canceled was opening night, April 2, 2024, in Norfolk, Va. They quickly rescheduled that event for later in the tour. Because of this, Houstonian fans hoped the band would reschedule a tour date with them. However, the Maybe Man tour did not make it to Houston. They released a live-streamed event to compensate for their cancelation, in which fans watched a recording of the band’s Wells Fargo Arena show in movie format from their homes later in the fall.

RodeoHouston posted their artist lineup on Instagram on Jan. 9 announcing the band’s return to Houston to perform at NRG Stadium on night three. Houston fans will get their second chance at last.
One fan remarked that she had made over 120 friendship bracelets to give away at the concert before Hurricane Beryl hit. Now, she plans to take them with her to the rodeo.
With tickets already on sale, available through the official RodeoHouston website, excitement is high. Preparation for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is underway, and fans of the AJR brothers excitedly await the brand they missed seeing almost a year before.

Your sister Miranda posted this article on an AJR Facebook group and wanted to say that I love the full article and maybe we can meet around the carnival the day of the show. This will be my first time seeing them live, and I relate to so much of their music.
