Houston is a melting pot of different cultures, which makes it a great place to find your next lunch spot or new favorite restaurant. The POST Houston being one such great place to explore both in terms of activities and food.
You can find the POST at 400 Franklin St. and just drive 3 short minutes or a brisk 12-minute walk from campus. Once you get there, walk the first floor and head to the food court where they offer many different options from Italian, Asian to West African.

If you’re fixing to find a new coffee spot, Eden Plant Co. has you covered. You can come out of their area with a matcha in one hand and a plant in the other. Not only do they offer coffee, pastries and plants, but they also have events worth checking out such as pilates, wine tastings and matcha workshops.
Now if you’re feeling a little more on the hungry side, there’s no shortage of options. I personally recommend ChopnBlock if you have never tried West African cuisine and are in search of something different from sushi or tacos. Try out their Golden Bowl, which is their most popular dish, and for good reason as I believe it is delicious and should be tried at least once.
Now that drinks and entrees have been covered, it’s time for dessert. For something cold and refreshing, head on over to Flower & Cream. They have a variety of new and interesting flavors for you to try, not just ice cream flavors but fun waffle cone flavors as well. If you cannot decide, try my order: biscoff cookie butter on a cinnamon brown sugar cone.
For a fun activity to walk off the food and aid digestion, walk up the spiral staircase in the middle of the food court and open the doors to find a wonderful view of the Houston skyline from POST’s rooftop.
POST Houston is the perfect place for a date or a nice day of self-care. If you decide to check it out, have fun exploring.
