UHD’s Creative Writing Club will host a fundraiser Thursday, March 5, at Teapresso Bar.

The Creative Writing Club was established last semester and aims to provide a collaborative and inclusive space for students to express themselves through writing, and foster writing skills in fiction, poetry, and nonfiction.

The Creative Writing Club is open to all UHD students, regardless of major. Meetings are held every Friday from 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. in the library room N420.

The fundraiser is open to all to help support events, giveaways, raffles, and more. When ordering from Teapresso, customers should mention the Creative Writing Club fundraiser to ensure proceeds go toward the club gets.

The Teapressobar is open from 10 a.m. 9 p.m. CST.

Last semester, the Creative Writing Club published their first student anthology in partnership with the Feminist Literature Club.

The anthologies costs $5 and feature poems, short stories, nonfiction and fiction pieces. The anthologies serve as a way for writers to share their work without restraint, freely and creatively.

UHD Zine Fest and Gator Con were recent events where the Creative Writing Club were able to share their anthologies. At Gator Con, the club also offered zines and book raffles, including sci-fi titles, Black History Month selections, and more young adult picks.
