About Us: The Dateline

Welcome to The Dateline! We are the official student-operated news publication at the University of Houston– Downtown.  

The Dateline is dedicated to delivering the latest in news and engaging stories that matter to our diverse community of readers. We strive to be a place for students to cultivate their journalistic skills while being a source for engagement.  

As a student-led publication, The Dateline  reports on exclusive feature interviews, trending news topics, current events, sports and entertainment, opinion pieces, and more.  Our publication remains an informative fact-first and relevant environment for our readers—including students, faculty and staff, or members of the greater Houston community.  

The Dateline empowers UHD students to become engaged citizens by combining ethical reporting with digital journalism. With our team of reporters, photographers, section editors, and digital media experts, we work to bring you quality journalism that you will love.
