Forrest Frank, a Houston-area native, returned home to perform at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on March 8. He drew a crowd of 70,707 people, filling NRG Stadium. The Christian artist, Frank, grew up in Fulshear, Texas, just outside of Katy, and highlighted the significance of this moment in his career.
During his performance, Frank showed honor and appreciation for his hometown and spoke about it. He said, “I grew up in a town called Fulshear, Texas, outside of Katy. How many are from the Houston area? This is a special full-circle moment for me.”
Tickets for the show sold out within hours of going on sale. In an interview with Mia Gradney of KHOU 11, Frank shared how significant the moment was for him as an artist.
Frank graduated from Baylor University andbuilt a strong following across TikTok and Instagram, with over 5 million combined followers. His 2024 album, “Child of God,”reached number one on the Billboard Christian Albums chart. His song “Your Way Is Better” also topped the Hot Christian Songs chart and entered the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 61.
Another album of his, “Child of God 2,” reached No. 1 on the Top Christian Albums chart and No. 12 on the Billboard 200.
Frank’s Houston Rodeo performance was also meaningful because of his family’s connection to Houston. He is the grandson of Neil Frank, a longtime Houston meteorologist who worked at KHOU 11 for more than 2 decades.
Neil Frank helped guide Houston residents through several storms and hurricanes, becoming a trusted voice for many viewers during severe weather events in the city. Neil Frank died at 94 on Dec. 24, 2025, after decades of broadcasting and public service. For Forrest Frank, performing in Houston was a special moment because of his grandfather’s recent passing.
During interviews about his performance, Frank expressed appreciation for his grandfather and shared that he believes many of the opportunities in his career are blessings that have been passed down to him.
