The Cuppo Coffee & Tea, a locally owned coffee shop that started in Jersey Village, has now found another spot in the North Houston area. On Jan. 10, it launched its grand opening, gathering many people. As the customers enter the coffeeshop, friendly baristas and a friendlier atmosphere greets them, with several art pieces decorating the walls leading to multiple separate spaces.
“Honestly [this coffee shop] is bigger than I thought it was,” says Eduardo, a first-timer at The Cuppo Coffee.
“It’s got a great atmosphere. I’ve been to a couple of coffee shops, but this one is pretty big. The office space blew my mind.”
The office space Eduardo refers to is the additional office suites located at the back of the building, with numbers labeling each room. Situated inside them is their own fully equipped setup containing computer monitors and desks, perfect for people needing a space for team meetings.
And that is precisely what the owners of The Cuppo Coffee & Tea intend for the spaces to be used for. While not open to all customers anymore, the office suites are now to be reserved ahead of time with the purpose of helping other small businesses grow. The Cuppo Coffee & Tea aims to help other businesses flourish while bringing a unique menu to the Greenspoint area.
Maggie, a barista at The Cuppo, is proud of the opportunities these spaces will bring to businesses waiting to be launched with the help of its office spaces.
“I think [the office spaces] have a lot of opportunity to bring small businesses together and help them thrive especially because they’re together in one space, it helps cut a lot of costs and allows more opportunity for growth.”
Maggie also praises the coffee shop’s goal of providing a chance for everyone to enjoy great coffee.
“The goal is to take good coffee from downtown and bring it out to the suburbs so that everyone can enjoy high-quality coffee and not just Starbucks or fast-food chains.”
As a life-long resident of Greenspoint, I’m immensely glad that the owners of The Cuppo decided to give this area a chance to bring people from the community together and help local businesses grow. The growth of this spot has only exemplified how residents are seeking out locations common in the downtown area in locations where many would not expect them to be.
