I want to start off by pointing out that I am new to the K-pop scene. Therefore, I am by no means an expert on this genre of music.
“Karma” released on Aug. 22 is Stray Kids’ fourth studio album. The title of the album refers to karma itself with the addition of wordplay on the word calmer. It is meant to express that “when bad karma comes, [Stray Kids] will calm it with good karma.”
Plus, during a press conference for “Karma”, Changbin shared the reason for the album’s creation. Stray Kids wanted to create an album that shared the positive karma based on the achievements and results that they have had with fans so far.

The album’s soundtrack is as follows:
- 삐처리 BLEEP
- CEREMONY
- CREED
- 엉망 (MESS)
- In My Head
- 반전 (Half Time)
- Phoenix
- Ghost
- 0801
- CEREMONY (Festival Version)
- CEREMONY (English Version)
I like all of the songs on this album. Although my favorite songs (in no particular) are “BLEEP”, “CEREMONY”, “In My Head”, and “Half Time”. Most of their songs contain lyrics in both Korean and English. On occasion, songs will contain a touch of Spanish, such as in “Half Time”, where during a line in the song they count from 1 to 4 in Spanish. Additionally, Stray Kids creates Japanese albums as well.
I adore it when artists mix languages together for their songs. As an English and Spanish speaker, it allows me to appreciate my bilingualism. It even encourages me to attempt to learn more languages.
The songs “BLEEP”, “CEREMONY”, and “Half Time” are the types of songs to listen to when you want to get into the zone. They can get your blood pumping and may even encourage you to start dancing or moving along to them.
The first time I listened to “In My Head”, I automatically felt the 2000’s vibe and loved it. The waves of nostalgia that hit me when I listen to this song is the reason that it has joined my music playlist.
Normally, I wouldn’t buy the physical album, but I will be purchasing Stray Kids’ “Karma”.
